POP-UP EVENTS

The evenings typically consist of an hour of spotlight presentations, where speechies from the host city are invited to put themselves forward to present for 15 minutes on an aspect of clinical practice that they have particular experience with or insight into. These presentations can be on a more niche area of practice, such as infant feeding or cleft palate, or on a particular technique or something new and novel that the speechie has been doing in their clinical practice that they would like to share. 

These sessions are rich and engaging for the people listening, as they are fresh from everyday clinical practice. They are also a great opportunity for the presenters to gain experience presenting.

The second hour is a presentation of case studies. Again, local speech pathologists are invited to present a short case study (typically 15 minutes) on an interesting or novel client or intervention they have worked on. These can be presented in a casual, conversational style and the presenter can choose to highlight particular aspects of the case or give a fuller overview.
