Action Words Deck: The Basics

This deck contains 108 action word cards, each including a picture representing the action and the action word in the past, present and future tense. Synonyms have also been included for some words.

When we say, ‘the basics’, we mean every foundational word for talking about action in day-to-day living and interacting. We didn’t want to just give you the 20 most common action words, but every action word we could think of for talking about movement, expression and interaction, and living life, to support a thorough and complete building of vocabulary.

ACTION Cards

When we say, ‘the basics’, we mean every foundational word for talking about action in day-to-day living and interacting. We didn’t want to just give you the 20 most common action words, but every action word we could think of for talking about movement, expression and interaction, and living life, to support a thorough and complete building of vocabulary.

USING THE CARDS

These cards are great to introduce for people who need to build a foundational vocabulary of action words. For those just beginning to learn action words, they can be used as flash cards (potentially with an accompanying game) to build a vocabulary of verbs. They can also be used to build phrases and sentences around and as a prompt for people building their word finding skills.

With the past, present and future tense forms of the word included on each card, you can support building a person’s use of tense and verb agreement within sentences. The synonyms on some cards also support with building a more sophisticated vocabulary.
